Just a year after their worst start since 1954 in the previous season, Arsenal won five games on the bounce at the start of a Premier League campaign. This is the first time they’ve won 5 in a row since 2004/05 when they were last reigning champions.
Arsenal were the only team to end August with a perfect record. Arteta oversaw victories over Crystal Palace, Leicester, Bournemouth, Fulham, and Aston Villa.
However, the winning streak was halted by a controversial loss to Manchester United in the first week of September.
Furthermore, the Gunners were excellent in front of goal, scoring 13 goals over the course of the five games in August. They gave up just four goals and had two clean sheets on the other end.
Arteta won the manager of the month award over Pep Guardiola, Antonio Conte, Graham Potter, and Marco Silva.
This is Arteta’s third manager of the month award overall, following wins in September 2021 and March 2022.
