Arsenal Could Expose Newcastle United’s Transfer Blunder After Alexander Isak Decision

Arsenal will not sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United this summer.

They want to, but a deal is not going to materialize. Newcastle United is not trading their key players, including Alexander Isak.

Instead, Newcastle intend to extend Isak’s contract.

Meanwhile, Arsenal needs a new forward. While Arsenal fans dream of signing Isak, the club is contemplating alternative plans.

Arsenal interested in Hugo Ekitike

Those plans could lead them towards a player who Newcastle United know all about.

According to Foot Mercato in France, Arsenal are one of three Premier League clubs interested in signing Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.

The other two clubs that are reportedly keen are Liverpool and West Ham United.

Hugo Ekitike is fulfilling his potential after Newcastle United missed out.

The name ‘Hugo Ekitike’ is well-known among Newcastle United fans. After all, he is the French forward who rejected the Magpies twice in 2022.

Eddie Howe attempted to sign Ekitike during his first transfer window in command, but the attacker declined Newcastle’s offer.

However, Newcastle was undeterred. They attempted again that summer, agreeing on a deal with Stade Reims to sign Ekitike.

However, it was PSG that signed him. Newcastle United missed out, while Ekitike had a rough time with the Ligue 1 giants.

Ekitike’s problems were entertaining to Newcastle fans after he refused a move to St James’ Park, but the 22-year-old is now proving why Howe wanted him in the first place.

Ekitike now plays for Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany, where he has 17 goals and six assists in 32 appearances. He is finally demonstrating his ability, and Newcastle United’s interest in Ekitike is more than justified.

However, Arsenal may profit as they prepare to compete with Liverpool and West Ham for a signature that Newcastle United narrowly missed out on twice.
