Arsenal have reportedly been dealt transfer blow over their pursuit of Rosenborg youngster, Sverre Nypan.
Following talks with his club last year, the Gunners appeared to be in the lead to sign the Norwegian teenage sensation.
The 18-year-old is regarded as one of football’s up-and-coming talents and has been likened to Martin Odegaard following an incredible season in which he raised the eyebrows of some big clubs with 18 goal contributions in 33 games.
However, it appears like Arsenal will not be able to get him as Aston Villa are believed to be currently in the lead.

According to the Athletic as reported by The Mirror, the teenager is “enthusiastic” about the possibility of moving to Villa Park, and Unai Emery’s team are “working to close a deal” for him, even as Manchester United and other teams are also interested in him.
The report continues by saying that Villa have not yet reached an agreement with Nypan either personal terms or a fee with Rosenborg.
With the season gradually coming to an end, Arsenal’s focus lies in the UEFA Champions League as they are set for a quarter final second-leg clash against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Going all the way to win the competition for the very first time in their history is going to be massive for Mikel Arteta’s side considering the fact they suffered a major injury crisis for most part of the season.
