Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a summer move for Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as Mikel Arteta look to bolster his attacking options.
According to Football Talk, the Gunners have “expressed interest” in Kvaratskhelia. Additionally, the 22-year-old’s potential transfer might be facilitated by the Gunners’ productive collaboration with Mauro Meluso, Napoli’s new sporting director.
Before taking a position as Spezia’s sporting director, Meluso served as a consultant to the north Londoners and recommended Kiwior, which resulted in the move by Arsenal for the defender last season.
Additionally, Arsenal’s pursuit of Kvaratskhelia may benefit from the Serie A champions’ resolve to cling onto Victor Osimhen this summer.
After playing pivotal roles in their attempt to win the Scudetto last season, Napoli are unwilling to part ways with either player this summer. The Italians might be more eager to make money off of Kvaratskhelia now that Osimhen is expected to stay.
For Napoli last season, the winger was in incredible form. With Luciano Spalletti’s team, the 22-year-old concluded the season with 14 goals and 17 assists in 43 games.
He also aided the Serie A club in reaching the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals. However they were eliminated by their Italian counterparts, AC Milan.
With the additions of Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber, Arsenal have become one of the most active teams in the transfer market. As Arteta seeks to assemble a bigger and more potent squad for the upcoming campaign.
