Arsenal are reportedly interested in a move for Porto striker Andre Silva as they prepare to lose star player Alexis Sanchez in the summer transfer window, according to Metro Football.
The 21-year-old is becoming regarded as one of the top prospects in European football at the moment after a superb season that has seen him score 20 goals in all competitions already.
Reports in Italy claim Juventus are also chasing the Portugal international, who has also apparently been suggested to Real Madrid as a worthwhile target by his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo.
Still, Arsenal look set to be ready to spend on attacking players this summer as Sanchez’s contract remains unsigned and his future looking increasingly like being away from the Emirates Stadium.
According to Calciomercato, Porto would want around £52million for Silva, but Arsenal could have funds to work with if they end up letting Sanchez go.
Given that the Chilean would be in a position to walk away on a free at the end of next season, it seems probable that the Gunners would take a reasonable offer if it comes in this summer.
Silva looks an exciting young player who could already be good enough to make the step up to a club like Arsenal, who have also been linked with Celtic’s Moussa Dembele and Torino front-man Andrea Belotti.
