Sheffield United are reportedly interested in signing Auston Trusty on loan from Arsenal.
According to The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath, Arsenal are in negotiations with Trusty about a loan exit.

Sheffield United are reportedly interested in bringing Trusty to Bramall Lane on a season-long loan.

The Blades don’t have a large budget to deal with this summer, so they must be creative in the market.

Moving for a loan signing like Trusty makes sense for Sheffield United, and he provides Paul Heckingbottom with a naturally left-footed alternative.

Last season, Jack Robinson played on the left of Sheffield United’s defensive three, but Trusty might now offer competition for a starting spot.

Arsenal are happy for Trusty to go on, and he would undoubtedly relish a transfer to the Premier League.

While McGrath believes it is a loan deal, The Sheffield Star reports that the Blades are pursuing a £5 million permanent transfer.

Sheffield United are pressing hard to sign Trusty, but Arsenal are believed to be open to both loan and permanent offers.

Arsenal could axe two American players amid Auston Trusty rumour

Trusty was fantastic in the Championship last season, including a fantastic loan spell with Birmingham City.

The 6ft 3in defender was named Birmingham Supporters’ Player of the Season and dubbed ‘amazing’ by Birmingham teammate George Friend.

Birmingham would undoubtedly like to re-sign Trusty, but he is now ready to move on from the Championship.

With Arsenal considering releasing two American players, Trusty may now play in the Premier League.

Arsenal are reportedly exploring a deal to trade goalkeeper Matt Turner to Nottingham Forest, according to The Athletic.

Turner and Trusty are both United States internationals who may be leaving Arsenal together in pursuit of first-team action somewhere.

Both are unlikely to play a big role under Mikel Arteta this season, and they look to have received offers from rival Premier League clubs ahead of the new season.
