Arsenal Intensify Interest In Williams As Gyokeres And Isak Tracked

Arsenal have reportedly increased their interest in Athletic Club winger, Nico Williams.

The Gunners have been monitoring the Spain international for a while and are considering signing him along with several other forwards.

Primarily a left winger, the 22-year-old excelled for Spain at the 2024 Euros, scoring in the team’s decisive victory over England. Williams was widely coveted across Europe last year, especially by Barcelona, but eventually remained at Bilbao.

Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta, the new sporting director of Arsenal, are getting ready to bolster the team, and Berta is familiar with Williams from his time with Atletico Madrid in Spain.

Since Raheem Sterling’s loan from Chelsea is about to expire, Arsenal are searching for wingers. They also want to bolster their center-forward position, where they are lacking options, and central midfield, where both Jorginho and Thomas Partey have contracts expiring.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal have been following a number of center-forwards, including Matheus Cunha of Wolves, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, Newcastle United forward, Alexander Isak, and Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting.

The Gunners launched a bid for Aston Villa star, Ollie Watkins in January, although it is believed that interest has since waned.

According to reports, the north-London club are currently evaluating a number of available center-forwards in an attempt to find a younger player than Watkins, who is 29.

The report also stated that Arsenal are looking to sign Real Sociedad midfielder, Martin Zubimendi and are confident to get the deal over the line.
