Arsenal are attempting to complete a £60 million deal for Kai Havertz as they move in to complete deals for both the Chelsea attacker and West Ham captain Declan Rice.
The Gunners aim to complete their transfer business early this summer. And discussions with Havertz are heating up after an opening approach of £50 million was rebuffed down last week.
Chelsea demand £70 million for Havertz. But Arsenal are hopeful that a deal can be made at a lower price.
According to the Evening Standard, Havertz is eager to join Arsenal, and personal terms are unlikely to be an issue.
Chelsea must part with players to balance the books and lower the size of their squad. And they are racing against the clock to offload undesirable players before June 30. So that the sales may be accounted for in their financial statements for 2022-23.
Arsenal hopes that the pressure will cause Chelsea to modify their stance on Havertz’s worth.
Havertz has struggled at Chelsea since joining from Bayer Leverkusen for £71 million in 2020. Primarily playing as a center-forward at Stamford Bridge.

However, he joined Chelsea as an offensive midfielder, and manager Mikel Arteta believes he can fulfill his potential at Arsenal.
West Ham on the other hand are not willing to soften their stance over their prized asset in Rice. The Hammers are demanding for over £100 million for the 24-year-old who captained the team to the UEFA Europa Conference League earlier this month.
