Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on Bologna striker, Joshua Zirkzee as Mikel Arteta is ready to add more quality in the Gunners attacking department.
Following consecutive losses to West Ham United and Fulham, the north-London club dropped to fourth place in the Premier League standings. They have also been eliminated from the FA Cup in the third round after a home loss to Liverpool.
With the exception of a 2-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion in mid-December, Arsenal have only won one of their last seven games across all competitions. Their recent struggles have primarily been attributed to their inability to score goals.
Last season, Arteta’s team scored 88 goals to challenge Manchester City for the league title. However, after 20 games this season, they have only managed 37 goals, which is a dramatic decline from a team with so much creative talent.
The Telegraph as cited by 90min claims that with Eddie Nketiah’s long-term future at the club uncertain and Gabriel Jesus dealing with form and injury issues. Arteta and the club’s hierarchy are looking to bring in reinforcements.
Although Zirkzee, a towering 6’4 striker, is a player Arsenal are believed to be keeping an eye on, a move for him could cost the club up to £50 million. After a successful loan spell at Anderlecht, he joined Bologna for just £7 million from Bayern Munich.

In 22 appearances this season across all competitions, Zirkzee has eight goals and provided four assists for his teammates.
