Legendary Arsenal midfielder Lee Dixon has urged his former team to sign a “superb” midfield player and is optimistic that the player would accept a transfer to the Emirates.
The guy in question is Angel Gomes, a star for Lille and England who has had a remarkable progress in the past 12 months, flourishing in France and becoming a regular for the Three Lions as a result.

The 24-year-old spent over ten years in Manchester United’s academy but only made ten appearances for the squad before opting to leave in 2020 in order to play regularly in the first team.
Gomes, who joined Lille on loan at first, has since made over 100 appearances and was a key player in leading the England Under-21 team to victory at the 2023 Euros.
If England qualifies for the 2026 World Cup under new coach Thomas Tuchel, he is currently seen as a lock to be included in the team, reports Team Talk.
Dixon has also asked Edu, his former teammate and the sports director of Arsenal, to bring Gomes to north London.
“I think Angel Gomes would fit in at Arsenal superbly,” Dixon said.
“His qualities are clear to see, he’s a very good link-up player and we’ve seen that he can play alongside Declan Rice.
