Ian Wright says he has been impressed with Chelsea’s adaptability ahead of the visit of Swansea City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues were 2-0 winners against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup fifth round last weekend thanks to goals from Pedro Rodriguez and Diego Costa.
Antonio Conte’s side have managed to avoid defeat in 18 of their last 19 games in the Premier League to leave Chelsea eight points clear at the top of the table.
Chelsea will host a Swansea side that has produced some impressive performances in 2017 so far, including a thrilling 3-2 win against Liverpool at Anfield.
However, former Arsenal striker Wright doesn’t envisage Chelsea faltering against the Welsh side, adding that the Blues are capable of altering their approach for different opponents.
Speaking to The Sun Goals podcast, ex-Gunners striker Wright heaped praise on Conte’s men for their outstanding performances throughout the 2016-17 campaign.
“What impresses me about Chelsea is that they’re adaptable to a team coming and trying to do that press and really putting them under pressure.
“What you’ve got in Hazard, Costa, Pedro, Moses, Alonso, Kante and Matic in front of Luiz – who everyone was laughing about when he came, they’ve got good players very well in the system.
“The players are making the system work because they’re playing so well. They don’t need to be scared of anyone because they’re playing so well in the system.”
Chelsea are eight points clear of Manchester City, who are in second place ahead of the chasing pack.
