Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Ajax teenage defender, Jorrel Hato in the summer transfer window.
According to Soccernews as reported by Caught Offside, the defender may cost over €100 million (£85 million). And it’s unclear if the two English clubs will be able to table such a bid.
The 18-year-old central defender is regarded highly throughout Europe due to his extraordinary talent. He hasn’t exactly shown himself at the top level, so paying £85 million for him would be a significant risk for any club.
It seems improbable that Arsenal or Liverpool would offer that much money for him. They will be hoping to get a better deal on his signing.
In the long run, Liverpool are anticipated to replace Joel Matip at central defense by bringing in a talented young player. Hato can adjust to English football, and Liverpool could develop him into a vital member of the team.
It will be interesting to watch how Arsenal fit him into their starting lineup given the array of central defenders they currently have at their disposal. Hato can’t afford to sit on the bench at Arsenal, as he needs regular football to continue developing.

In addition, both teams need to bolster the other areas of their roster and have other priorities. It may not be feasible for them to spend £85 million on the young prodigy.
Although the 18-year-old has the potential to become a world-class central defender and may eventually be able to justify the price tag. It would not be wise to make such an investment at this time.
