Arsenal Looking ‘Frustrated’ In Their Search For New No. 9 Targets

Real Sociedad midfielder Zubimendi, who has a £51 million buyout clause in his contract, has also been strongly linked to Real Madrid.

Even when Andrea Berta took over, the Gunners had already worked tirelessly to secure a contract for Zubimendi, whom Mikel Arteta greatly admires.

The midfield player’s foundation has been set, but Real Madrid hasn’t shown any firm interest in trying to snare any possible trade.

However, Berta’s support for Sporting Lisbon forward Viktor Gyokeres has made Arsenal’s preparations for a new front less developed.

While they have been scouting and courting RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko for well over a year, Arsenal manager Arteta has long been a fan of Newcastle attacker Alexander Isak.

There will be a lot of interest in Gyokeres because Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim knows him from his time in Lisbon, reports Mirror.

In what might be a busy summer, Arsenal also wants a left winger to replace Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia and Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao as their new number two.
