According to a high source, Arsenal is in talks with Aston Villa over Jhon Duran, despite uncertainties over agreements for Benjamin Sesko and Alexander Isak.
Arsenal are looking for a new centre-forward after Gabriel Jesus sustained an ACL injury that ended his season early. Mikel Arteta still has Kai Havertz in his roster, but the German is not the lethal goalscorer Arsenal needs if they want to win major prizes.
Signing a great new striker during the winter window will be difficult, especially since the deadline is on Monday. Howeverthe club will want to boost Arteta’s attacking line with a No. 9 regardless.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, contact has been made with Duran, who Villa may let leave for the right price.

Arsenal have begun preliminary conversations for Duran because they are unsure whether they will be able to sign RB Leipzig’s Sesko or Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak in the near future.
“What I’m told is that also Arsenal made a call in the recent weeks to understand the situation of Jhon Duran, because Sesko, at the moment, no green light from Leipzig,” Romano told GiveMeSport (in Italian).
“Also, Alexander Isak is Arsenal’s ideal target. Super expensive, almost impossible, nothing to do with football, but extremely complicated. In recent weeks, Arsenal has also contacted to learn more about Jhon Duran’s status, although there has been no bid or direct conversations with Aston Villa.
