Arsenal May Activate A £53 Million Release Clause To Sign A “Special” Player

According to TBR Football, Martin Zubimendi’s release clause could be activated by Arsenal, who are reportedly interested in signing the Real Sociedad midfield player.

The 24-year-old has been connected to a move to north London for a long time; this month, reports suggested that Arsenal might try to sign Zubimendi if the necessary funds were made available.

The Sociedad maestro, who has a release clause worth €60 million (£53 million), would be a great addition for Arsenal this month, especially since the Gunners appear to be prioritizing a center-forward.

However, Mundo Depotivo claims that Arsenal might move quickly to sign Zubimendi, as the North London team is prepared to fulfill the midfielder’s release clause in order to facilitate a transfer to the Premier League.

Zubimendi is a player that Fabrizio Romano has called “special,” so Arsenal signing him would be an intriguing move considering what supporters have been anticipating the Gunners to accomplish in January.

But since Mohamed Elneny and Thomas Partey missed most of the season due to injury, Arsenal might benefit from having another midfield player in their lineup as they look to win the Premier League.

Given how frequently Zubimendi has been linked to Arsenal, Mikel Arteta may not wait to make a formal bid to acquire the midfield player.

Even though January might be a great opportunity to bring Zubimendi to the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal might be better off holding off until the summer.

It is well known that the Gunners are in need of a goal-scoring center-forward, so it would be more cost-effective to spend their limited resources in January trying to address this problem.

Furthermore, because Sociedad is having yet another outstanding season, the La Liga team will be reluctant to let Zubimendi go, even though he may be interested in staying for the rest of the season.
