Newcastle United are reportedly interested in competing with Arsenal and Liverpool to capture West Ham’s £90 million-rated winger Mohammed Kudus.
Arsenal had been preparing to replicate their Declan Rice trick, in which they swooped in and seized the Hammers’ best asset in order to solidify their reputation as Premier League and European title contenders.
Newcastle have now reportedly entered the picture, however they will need to make some January sales to fund a move that would exceed their club-record £63 million purchase of striker Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad two years ago.

West Ham have put a £90 million price tag on Kudus, who has an £85 million summer release clause. Arsenal and Premier League leaders Liverpool, whose assistant manager Johnny Heitinga has already worked with the Ghanaian at Ajax and West Ham, might test the Hammers’ resolve next month.
Newcastle scouts had been keeping an eye on 24-year-old Kudus since he was a teenager with Danish club FC Nordsjaelland, and they expressed an interest before he moved to the London Stadium from Ajax for £38 million 16 months ago. The Geordies are looking for a high-quality, right-sided player, and sources say the versatile Kudus meets the bill. Reported by Express News.
“So whatever is going on at a football, they’re the ones absorbing it. Naturally, PSR has had an effect on the club and we haven’t been able to strive and reach as quickly as we wanted to initially.
“I don’t think there’s a wish or a want from anyone to sell our best players. We’re desperate to take the team forward positively, not step back in any way. The best player we have, they’re like gold dust. We’ve got to cherish them.”
