Arsenal are ready to hire a sporting director in an attempt to restructure their off-field team, according to the London Evening Standard.
Reports today suggested the Gunners are looking at the long term with Dick Law, who has worked with manager Arsene Wenger on player negotiations and contracts since 2009, poised to leave the club. According to reports, Law would stay for a short time to work with the new appointment.
Arsenal are considering creating a football operations role with responsiblity for scouting and recruitment, the academy, and sports science and medicine.
The club stress, however, that these projects are not linked to the future of Wenger, who has been offered a two-year extension, but has yet to sign it. He is out of contract at the end of the season and many supporters are calling for him to leave.
