Arsenal are reportedly ‘keeping tabs’ on Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra ahead of making a blockbuster bid next summer.
Last week, the Gunners were mentioned as being aware of Guerra’s situation. According to Football Insider as cited by London World, the north London outfit continue to prioritize finding a new midfield player on a long-term contract.
The present contracts of Jorginho and Thomas Partey expire in 2025. The latter midfielder signed a one-year extension with Emirates in the summer. Mikel Arteta is believed to be focusing on finding a replacement for both players. Guerra is reportedly one such prospect.
The 21-year-old is claimed to be “highly rated” and a player that Arsenal are purportedly aware of thanks to their scouting network.
However, because the Valencia star’s current release clause is set at €100 million (£85m), a move for him would be impossible to complete in the upcoming transfer window.
According to reports, Arsenal are not expected to activate the clause in January. As a result, if the Gunners want to wrest the developing star from the La Liga side, they will need to negotiate with them.

Though, it seemed quite unlikely that any club would pay that much for the young talent.
Links between the Gunners and England international Angel Gomes have also been reported. But it’s believed that Guerra is a far more attractive prospect due to his dynamic midfield style, which could grow as his profile closely matches Arteta’s desires for the midfield set-up going forward.
