The 24-year-old is high on the Gunners’ list of objectives, according to former Man United and Sunderland top scout Mick Brown, who is still very well-connected in the game, in an exclusive interview with Football Insider.
The winger’s agent has been circulating his name as a prospective possibility in recent weeks and is reported to be fueling the rumors about his future.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider that if Newcastle is forced to sell before they can spend this summer, they could accept “huge” offers for Gordon.
The Magpies would be willing to pay more for the England star than for Bruno Guimaraes or Alexander Isak, but they are still very reluctant to part with their top players.
Amid worries about their depth after Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka suffered injuries this season, Arsenal is adamant on acquiring a new winger, reports Football Insider.
According to Brown, Gordon is a key component of Arsenal’s ambitious intentions to win the Premier League the following season.
Arsenal has surpassed Real Madrid in the competition to sign Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao.
