Arsenal Plot Swap Deal To Beat Liverpool To Signing

Arsenal are reportedly planning a swap deal to beat Liverpool to the signing of Crystal Palace defender, Marc Guehi this summer.

According to The Metro, the Gunners are looking to offer Eddie Nketiah as part of the deal for the England international.

Although some of the top clubs in the country were already keeping an eye on Guehi. His efforts for the Three Lions at Euro 2024 only served to further solidify his reputation.

For the most part of the competition, the 24-year-old played with John Stones in the center of the England defence. And he was incredibly excellent in doing so, increasing his total number of international caps to 17.

Guehi appears to have solidified his spot in the England team for years to come after his exploits in Germany. However that will depend on the manager who takes over from Gareth Southgate.

However, a number of major teams were obviously impressed, as the former Chelsea defender was linked to Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool.

Although the Eagles obviously want to hang on to one of their biggest players. Guehi is under contract at Selhurst Park until 2026, and they would take almost £70 million for him.

According to reports Arsenal are trying to lower this fee by include Nketiah in the agreement.

The 25-year-old is currently regarded as surplus to requirements despite making several appearances for Arsenal under Mikel Arteta and performing well enough to earn his first England cap last season.

Palace have lost Michael Olise to Bayern Munich for a fee of £60 million, so they are not under any pressure to sell Guehi this summer.
