Arsenal Receive Odegaard Injury Boost

Norway head coach, Stale Solbakken has handed Arsenal a major injury boost after implying that he expects Martin Odegaard to be available for the November international break.

Although he is getting closer to being fit again, the attacking midfielder has not played since sustaining an ankle injury while playing for Norway in September.

After losing to Bournemouth last weekend, Mikel Arteta’s team have been missing their skipper. The Norwegian is also expected to miss Sunday’s pivotal match against Liverpool.

According to The Independent, Solbakken has provided a positive update on the 25-year-old’s progress. And Arteta has hinted that he might have him back available before the next round of international activity in the middle of next month.

“Everything indicates that things are going according to plan,” the Norway manager told VG when asked if Odegaard would be ready to play for his country next month.

“So it’s about the last steps when you have to train with opponents and in team training. It depends on how he responds to that, but we have a legitimate hope that he is ready.”

After losing badly to Austria in their most recent match, Norway will play Slovenia and Kazakhstan in the Nations League in November.

With a journey to Milan to play Inter in between league travels to Newcastle and Chelsea, Arsenal will have three difficult tests in the week beforehand.
