Arsenal Receive Positive Injury Boost As Defender Spotted In Training Ahead Nottingham Clash

Arsenal defender, Kieran Tierney has reportedly returned to full fitness and spotted training with the first team ahead of Nottingham Forest clash.

Tierney hasn’t been in action since being forced off after Scotland’s Euro 2024 match against Switzerland in June.

According to TBR Football, the Arsenal defender is currently participating in group sessions after returning to individual training in September.

After seeing a decline in performance prior to the international break, the Gunners will be keen to resume back to action.

The Gunners have not won in November, and their most recent Premier League triumph came on October 5th when they defeated Southampton 3-1.

Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino, and Riccardo Calafiori have all missed games due to injuries that Arteta has had to cope with.

Although, Tierney doesn’t seem to appear to be part of Mikel Arteta’s long-term plans. But his return to training might help with a number of the personnel concerns at the back.

Since Riccardo Calafiori and Takehiro Tomiyasu are still out for the Gunners, Arteta may use Tierney at left-back if necessary.

The Scotland international is in Arsenal’s Champions League squad. And since the festive period is quickly approaching, it’s best to have as many players as possible.

Nevertheless, Arteta still has left-back-capable players Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jakub Kiwior, and Jurrien Timber.

Given this, Tierney, who Gabriel Martinelli has called Arsenal’s fastest player, would probably still be at the bottom of the hierarchy.
