Arsenal has unveiled their official away kit for the 2022-23 season, which is inspired by the club’s ‘Little Islingtons’ in the United States and around the world.
For the first time in Arsenal history, the distinctive new jersey mixes black and gold colors, with an all-encompassing AFC pattern inspired by the club insignia visible to fans en route to Emirates Stadium on matchdays.
The uniform pays homage to the Gunners’ abroad fans, affectionately known as the “Little Islingtons,” and it also has significant ties to the Black Lives Matter movement thanks to Aston Mack, the founder of the Orlando Freedom Fighters.
At a BLM protest in July 2020, Mack made headlines by wearing an Arsenal jersey. He has claimed the following about his affinity to the new uniform:
“As a proud Orlando Gooner, to me, the Arsenal jersey means strength, solidarity and pride.
“When I wear the jersey, it takes me to another world. I feel protected, I feel connected, I feel part of a bigger community. I’m proud of Arsenal for presenting what our jersey means to people like me.
“It’s more than a jersey, it’s a representation of home and family, no matter where we’re from or where we live.”

The Sparkling Gold And Black Jersey
This shirt has the potential to become a classic among Arsenal fans, not just because of its outstanding appearance, but also because of the message it conveys. That might be a guarantee if Mikel Arteta’s side succeeds this season, as the Gunners’ crucial campaign approaches.
