Arsenal Set To Lose Another Striker Target As Bundesliga Goal-Machine Deal All But Done

Arsenal have lost out on another alleged striker target after it was revealed that VfB Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy would stay in the Bundesliga and join with Borussia Dortmund.

Taking to X, Italian sports journalist and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano revealed: “Serhou Guirassy to Borussia Dortmund, here we go!” After months of negotiations, BVB has gained player approval for this transaction.

“Guirassy has accepted and formal steps will follow. BVB will pay the release clause around €17.5m (£15m) to Stuttgart.

Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United had all been linked with the Guinean international, however the Blues were rumored to have pulled out earlier this week. AC Milan also had Guirassy, who scored 30 goals in 30 games last season, on their wishlist, along with Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku, if their first-choice candidate, Joshua Zirkzee, went through.

Guirassy, 28, has expressed a desire to move Stuttgart this summer, and while Metro reports he was available for a relatively low release clause of €20 million (£16.9 million), it appears Dortmund has reduced this price to £15 million.

While the Bundesliga club was thought to be concerned about Arsenal’s rising interest in the Guinean talent, Romano’s newest article reveals that Guirassy has chosen to remain in Germany rather than pursue Premier League opportunities. According to Stuttgarter Nachrichten, Dortmund plans to roughly triple Guirassy’s wage, which was previously £65,000.
