Saka has been sidelined since December due to a severe hamstring strain sustained during the Selhurst Park triumph over Crystal Palace, which ultimately necessitated surgery.
However, his value to Mikel Arteta’s squad is undeniable, as the team gets ready to meet with the player’s representatives to discuss a contract extension.
One of Arsenal’s primary aims will be to sign Saka to a longer deal because they want to eliminate any doubt about their star player’s future.
Saka, a 23-year-old England international, agreed to his current deal in 2022, which is reportedly worth at least £10 million every season.
However, that deal is set to expire at the conclusion of the 2026–2027 season, and preliminary steps have already been taken to begin formal negotiations.
It is anticipated that the process would quicken in the near future, reports BBC Sports.
Saka is currently concentrating on his eagerly anticipated recuperation from his hamstring surgery.
Manager Arteta stated following Sunday’s victory over Chelsea that the forward had a high chance of making a comeback shortly after the current international break.
On April 1, Arsenal will play Fulham at Emirates Stadium.
