Arsenal have reportedly submitted a £17 million bid for Espanyol goalkeeper, Joan Garcia after accepting a bid from Southampton for Aaron Ramsdale.
Since Mikel Arteta took over, the goalkeeping department at the Emirates Stadium has been in flux, with both Emiliano Martinez and Bernd Leno departing the side.
However, Ramsdale, one of the goalkeepers brought in to replace the departed pair, is also about to leave.
After joining the Gunners in the summer of 2021, the England international saw a Premier League Southampton bid approved.
It follows after the North Londoners approved a summer transfer for David Raya, the Spanish shot-stopper who became Arteta’s first choice almost right away.
Ramsdale is eager to make a change this summer after spending the most of the 2023–24 campaign on the bench as a consequence.
According to the Daily Express, Arsenal could receive up to £24 million (with add-ons) for Ramsdale. And the Premier League runners-up are anticipated to immediately reinvest the money.
This is due to Fabrizio Romano’s report that Arsenal are getting ready to make a deal for Garcia.
It is believed that the 23-year-old and Arsenal have already reached an agreement on personal terms. Therefore the proposed sum is the only thing holding up a deal.
Romano claims that Arsenal have made an offer of £17 million for the Spaniard. But that sum is far less than the £25 million release clause that was added to Garcia’s contract.

Arsenal may encounter difficulties because Espanyol are not in a hurry to sell.
