Arsenal will be favored to win the London encounter on Tuesday night. The rematch is scheduled for April 17 in Bavaria.
UEFA has banned Bayern supporters from attending to the first leg as punishment for throwing fireworks onto the pitch in their 3-1 win at Lazio in the previous round of the competition.
Still, it’s thought that a sizable contingent of German fans traveled to London for the game.
The majority of those supporters who are traveling would think the game would take place at the Emirates, but for the Champions League encounter, the stadium will go by a totally new moniker.
Due to a little-known UEFA rule, the stadium is simply referred to as the Arsenal Stadium when participating in European play.
According to their own sponsorship regulations, stadium sponsors are not recognized by the body that oversees European football.
Manchester City, a Premier League team, is similarly impacted by this, as the Etihad is listed for European games under its previous name, The City of Manchester Stadium.
UEFA’s sponsorship rules have also led to teams having to alter their names to comply.
