Arsenal To Make Approach For Striker Reminiscent Of Henry

Arsenal are reportedly set to make an approach for Newcastle United striker, Alexander Isak following the club’s long standing interest.

After joining Newcastle from Real Sociedad in 2022, the attacker’s adjustment to life in the Premier League has quite been successful.

The player joined the Magpies in a £63 million deal, making him the club’s most expensive acquired player.

Although the 25-year-old is crucial to Eddie Howe’s ideology and the squad’s long-term goals, there is increasing conjecture about his future.

Isak is finding it difficult to agree to a contract extension with the Toons. The Sweden international’s contract at St. James’ Park is not expected to expire until 2028. However, Newcastle are engaged in tense negotiations over a potential extension.

With Isak and Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig at the top of Arteta’s 2025 wish list, he is expected to go all out to bring in a new number nine.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, there are already sharp comparisons being made with Newcastle’s no.14.

According to Caught Offside, Isak’s style of play makes Arteta think of the great former striker Thierry Henry.

Arsenal Fans will be thrilled if Isak should join the Gunners and replicate Henry’s performances for the team.

Since his initial departure in 2007, the club has never truly replaced a forward as prolific as the Frenchman, who was perhaps the greatest player to ever play for the team.
