ARSENAL are reportedly willing to meet N’Golo Kante’s £20million release clause and are frontrunners to sign the Leicester star.
Kante burst onto the Premier League scene this season and was a pivotal member of Claudio Ranieri’s title-winning side.
The 25-year-old was named in the team of the season, and is also expected to be part of Didier Dechamps’ France side for Euro 2016.
As a result, top European clubs are reportedly interested in signing him, including Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea.
However, according to reports in the French media, it’s Arsene Wenger’s side who are leading the charge for his signature.
Website Le 10Sport claim Kante has a £20m release clause that the Gunners are willing to meet and have shrugged off the rest of the competition.
This week website France Football also claimed Arsenal had met with the midfielder’s representatives and newspaper L’Equipe said he has prioritised a move to London.
Kante has made 39 appearances in all competitions for Leicester this term, scoring once and laying on four assist.
He is under contract at the King Power until June 2019.
