Mikel Arteta has reportedly claimed that Arsenal are prepared to welcome some new arrivals in the upcoming January transfer window after suffering an injury crisis.
Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu are both sidelined with knee injuries, meaning Arsenal could be missing up to seven players when they play Monaco in the Champions League tonight. Thomas Partey, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jurrien Timber, Riccardo Calafiori, and Gabriel did not show up for training on Tuesday.
Because of this, Kieran Tierney might be ready to play for the Gunners for the first time in 16 months. And according to The Mirror, Arteta has acknowledged that if the injury issues do not improve before the transfer market opens, the Gunners will need to bolster their squad.
What Did Arteta Say About The Possibility Of Signing Players In January?
“The window gives us an opportunity to strengthen the team if we feel that is needed and we feel that we have the capacity to do that as well,” Arteta explained ahead of his side’s clash with Monaco.
