Arteta Reacts On Ban Ahead Of Aston Villa Clash

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confessed that he doesn’t know how to stop his celebration after landing a one-game ban and will not be in the dug-out in the Gunners’ huge clash against Aston Villa at the Villa Park.

On Tuesday night at Kenilworth Road, Arsenal defeated newly promoted Luton Town with a late goal. Before the winner emerged in the seventh minute of extra time, the score was tied at 3-3.

Martin Odegaard crossed the ball which was met with Declan Rice header and into the bottom corner, setting off a flurry of celebrations among the players, fans, and staff. Arteta received a yellow card as punishment, meaning he will miss the 6:30 p.m. game on Saturday.

At his press conference, the Spaniard was asked if he wanted to stop celebrating so he wouldn’t get booked.

“If I was given the opportunity, no,” he said as cited by Birmingham Live. “I want to be there close with my players because we work so hard to be there.

“If I was given the chance I would be there jumping. I don’t know how to stop it. It was a really emotional moment and you lose sense of where you are.

“It was unfortunate because I cannot be next to my team. If you look strictly at the rules we cannot do that. Maybe we need a very strong rope to keep us near the bench. When I say we I mean all of us (managers).”
