Real Madrid star Marco Asensio is set to snub interest from the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea and pen a new long-term deal with the Spanish giants, according to talkSPORTS.
The contract, which is expected to run until 2023, is said to include a release clause set at a huge €500m (£442m), almost twice as much as Paris Saint-Germain paid to sign Neymar.
The 21-year-old is regarded as one of the best young players on the planet having established himself as a regular member of Zinedine Zidane’s starting XI at Madrid.
The Bernabeu club paid his boyhood club Mallorca just £3.5m to land him in 2014 and he was swiftly loaned back to them.
He also spent a season out on loan at Espanyol before being integrated into the first team at Madrid during the summer of 2016.
He ended last season with 23 La Liga appearances for the club, with 11 coming from the start and he has already played six times in the league this term.
Now he is set to be rewarded with a new long-term deal which will end speculation that he may leave the club.
Both Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with the playmaker but reports in Spain have now suggested he has agreed a new deal at Madrid which will be announced later this week.
