Aston Villa are attempting to recruit Barcelona forward Ferran Torres on a loan-to-buy deal with a €25m buyout clause.
Aston Villa reportedly wants to recruit former Manchester City forward Ferran Torres this summer, according to a report from Mundo Deportivo. And they are looking to sign the player on loan from Barcelona with the option to buy.
It is unknown if Barcelona would approve the €25m deal in the upcoming weeks.
Torres has failed to maintain a regular starting position at the Spanish club while playing for Barcelona’s side.
The player could be able to play more frequently if he leaves Barcelona, and Aston Villa will undoubtedly give him the opportunity.
The West Midlands club need to bring in attacking reinforcements this summer. They were overly dependent on Ollie Watkins last season.
However, the 27-year-old clearly needs more help and support from his teammates.
Unai Emery needs a player who can share the goalscoring burden with Watkins, and Torres seems like the ideal acquisition. The 24-year-old has previously played in the Premier League with Manchester City, and he should be able to make an immediate impact.

Aston Villa are on the up, and were quite impressive in the past season.
Aston Villa will be competing in the UEFA Europa Conference League next season, and they have a top-class manager like Unai Emery in charge.
The West Midlands club could be an attractive destination for players.
However, it remains to be seen whether Torres is keen on the move.
