According to reports, Aston Villa is under pressure to generate money by the end of June in order to maintain compliance with the Profit and Sustainability Rules.
According to The Athletic, Jacob Ramsey might be given up as interest in the midfield player increases. Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Bayern Munich are all keeping an eye on the situation. More than £50 million might be offered for the 22-year-old, which would allay worries over Villa’s capacity to meet PSR.
Newcastle are said to have made an approach for Ramsey already as they attempt to bolster Eddie Howe’s side, although unless they manage to achieve a significant sale, he is likely to be beyond reach.
Villa have had a quiet window, but are hopeful of adding Morgan Rogers to Unai Emery’s squad before Thursday’s 11pm deadline. Middlesbrough have turned down three bids for the 21-year-old and are no budging on their valuation of the player.
Kosta Nedeljkovic was Villa’s first signing of the month, but the highly-rated right-back returned to Serbian champions Crvena Zvezda on loan for the remainder of the campaign. He cost Villa a deal worth £6.5million plus add-ons.
Villa have so far sold one player in this window, as Finn Azaz was recalled from his loan at Plymouth Argyle and sold to Boro for £2.5million.
