Aston Villa are reported to have rejected about forty offers for Jhon Duran during the just concluded summer transfer window.
Villa believe among their ranks they have a forward with world-class potential.
Colombia frontman, Duran is seen as a super sub at Villa Park right now. Though, he was eager to depart the club in order to get more playing time.
In two of Villa’s first three games of the season, the 20-year-old, who came from Chicago Fire in January 2023, scored the game-winning goal off the bench.
Unai Emery, the manager of Villa, is rumored to have far more ambitious plans for Duran in the future.
According to The Mirror, forty clubs attempted, but were unable, to sign Duran throughout the summer.
Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo, often known as Monchi, is Villa’s president of football operations. He informed the newspaper: “Unai is very confident with Jhon Duran. Very confident.”
Monchi continued: “He thinks he can become one of the best strikers in the world in the next 12 months. He is 100 per cent convinced.

“So, what is the problem? We also have Ollie Watkins and Duran wants to play. He thinks he is better than Watkins. That is normal because every player thinks he is better than their team-mates.
“To manage Watkins and Duran is not easy but at the end it is the best for the team. If you have two big strikers it is better than only one.”
