Atletico Madrid has made a bold proposal to sign Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez.
Joao Felix is being offered to City by the La Liga powerhouses as a makeweight in a loan agreement with the option to purchase the Argentine attacker.
They have also proposed an unknown loan price to the Premier League winners.
Alvarez is reportedly interested in moving to Spain and is a potential transfer target for PSG, Chelsea, and Arsenal.
But City believes the 2022 World Cup winner is worth about £75 million and if they were to sell, they would want a further £10 million in add-ons.
Pep Guardiola has stated he is “counting on him” to stay at the team for the upcoming season and has made it plain that he would want to keep the 24-year-old.

The City manager did acknowledge that “decisions will be made all together” when Alvarez returns to the team after Argentina’s triumph in the Copa America and this summer’s Olympic Games.
Felix had previously attracted interest from City, reports Metro
Last season, when on loan at Barcelona, he scored 10 goals in 44 games.
In 2023, the Portugal international also enjoyed a brief loan stint at Chelsea, where he scored four goals in twenty appearances.
Alvarez has previously stated that he “didn’t like being left out of important matches” for City, although Atletico failed in their attempts to sign him earlier in the transfer window.
Guardiola remained steadfast in his resolve to retain Alvarez when he was questioned about the player’s future following Man City’s 4-2 preseason victory against Chelsea.
