Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed he would love to play in the Premier League in the future, revealing exactly his reasons why.
Aubameyang has been in mesmeric form this season for Thomas Tuchel’s side this season, scoring an impressive 23 goals in 28 league games.
The former Saint Etienne forward’s fine form has prompted speculation about his future at the Signal Iduna Park, but both he and the club have often played down rumours of a potential departure.
However, Aubameyang has often spoken about potential plans to play in Spain – where his mother originates from – and while La Liga is in his sights, the Gabon international would also love to experience the Premier League as he feels it would suit his play.
“I hope so! Why not? It would be very good, very nice. We will see,” Aubameyang told the Meet A Star foundation.
“My dream is to play in Spain, because my mother is from Spain and I have some family there. It is one of my dreams. But for the moment I’m in Germany.
“I watch the Premier League for sure. I watch some games.
“The teams are very, very good and I like it because every game is open. And there’s so much space – and I love space because then I can run!
“That’s why it’s a very good and very special league.”
Aubameyang’s comments will certainly alert the likes of Manchester United, who have both been heavily linked with a move for the deadly forward. The Mirror that the Red Devils have opened talks with the big name forward and have made him their no.1 target.
Aubameyang, who was signed by Jurgen Klopp back in 2013 during the Liverpool manager’s time in charge of Dortmund, is rated as one of Europe’s hottest strikers ahead of the summer.
It remains to be seen who can afford the pacy forward, who has netted a total of 78 goals in 134 matches across all competitions during his three years in Germany.
