Baggies starlet on Eagles’ radar

Crystal Palace are set to be busy in January and West Bromwich Albion’s young defender Nathan Ferguson is the latest player linked. Manager Roy Hodgson has already made it clear he intends to do business in the winter window and a number of players have been mentioned as possible targets.
The Eagles chief has money to spend following the big-money move of Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United in the off-season and, according to the Daily Mail, he will try to lure the right-back to Selhurst Park.
Having made his Baggies debut this season, Ferguson has played every minute of the 10 Championship matches he has started and has impressed with his versatility.
Having started as a central defender, Albion boss Slaven Bilic has tried him out on both flanks of the rearguard and he seems at home, with two caps at England Under-20 level also on his CV.
The 19-year-old scored his first West Brom goal in a 2-0 win at Queens Park Rangers and has helped the West Midlanders to top spot in the second-tier standings.
It is unclear how much the youngster would cost although it seems unlikely he will come cheap given the current market, while Bilic will doubtless try to keep hold of his prized asset with the Hawthorns outfit gunning for promotion.
Palace have enjoyed an excellent start to the campaign themselves and sat in sixth place heading into the international break, level on 14 points with Chelsea and Leicester City.
Things are about to get tougher, however, with the visit of pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on Saturday.
The champions will still be smarting from their shock 2-0 home loss to Wolves last time out and the south Londoners will be hoping for more of the same as they try to build on a 2-1 win at West Ham on October 5.
