Michael Ballack has expressed his delight at Bastian Schweinsteiger‘s return to first-team training at Manchester United.
The 32-year-old midfielder made 18 appearances for United last season – missing 24 games due to injury – but has fallen out of favour under Jose Mourinho, who demoted him to train with the reserves when he first arrived at Old Trafford.
Ballack says his former Germany teammate is where he should be, after Schweinsteiger was pictured training with the first-team yesterday.
@BSchweinsteiger Right where you should be 👍👍 #Schweinsteiger #Schweini #ManchesterUnited #firstteam https://t.co/jeMiUGlAE4

Though it is unclear whether Schweinsteiger will be picked for Mourinho’s matchday squads in their games going forward, especially with the likes of Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini, Michael Carrick and Morgan Schneiderlin all vying for a spot in the first-team.
Schhweinstger made 90 appearances for his country, while the former Bayern Munich star featured in 121 Bundesliga games and won the World Cup in 2014.
Manchester United are without a win since their 4-1 win over Leicester City last month, after only managing a goalless draw against Burnley on Saturday.
