Nico Marcipar dreams of a first-team breakthrough
Another young talent, Nico Marcipar, is eager for his opportunity and dreams of breaking through into the first-team setup at Barcelona, reports SPORT.
Marcipar, 16, is a left-footed centre-back by trade, who is currently a part of Barcelona’s Cadete A side (Under-16), who are poised to celebrate the first league championship of the Barça youth team in 11-a-side football this season.
Raised in Castelldefels by an Argentine family from Santa Fe, Nico started out as a player in the Sant Cugat academy, before making the switch to La Masia.
Dream to walk in Lionel Messi’s footsteps
Even though Nico was born and raised in Spain, he has chosen to represent Argentina in juvenile competitions thus far.
The young player’s greatest ambition, according to the source, is to play at Camp Nou for Barcelona like Lionel Messi, the last Argentinean graduate from La Masia to make the first squad.
Nico didn’t hesitate to accept the RFEF’s offer to play for Spain when it came to listening to the AFA (Argentinean Football Association) proposition.
The 16-year-old plays frequently for Argentina’s Under-16 team and has also made a few appearances for their Under-17 squad.
Nico is incredibly appreciative of the care he has always received from the managers, employees, and coaches overseeing Barça’s youth program. And to eventually compete at the highest level for the club.
