Barcelona encountered a heavy blow as teenage sensation Lamine Yamal sustained an ankle injury after the match against Red Star Belgrade.
The Catalan club’s jewel is scheduled to receive the best care possible from the club following a recent injury, SPORT stated.
The 17 year old ailment forced him to miss the match against Real Sociedad. Barcelona’s medical staff has carefully analyzed the injury, a serious contusion on his right ankle received during the Champions League match against Red Star.
The examinations revealed a grade 1 syndesmosis injury, which is expected to sideline him for two to three weeks.
This sad development was the first time Yamal missed a game for Barcelona due to injury in what has otherwise been a busy season for the teenage forward, who has appeared in 60 games for the club and internationally.
His absence indicates his importance to the squad; Barcelona has lost both La Liga games this season in which he did not start against Osasuna and, most recently, Real Sociedad.
According to BarcaUniversal, Yamal’s injury corresponded with the November international break, limiting the number of club games he will miss. Barcelona’s next game is slated for Saturday, November 23, against Celta de Vigo.

By then, the two-week recuperation period will be nearly over, but his availability for this game is doubtful and will be determined by how well his ankle heals.
If he requires extra time, Yamal may miss the Champions League group stage encounter against Brest on November 26 and the La Liga game against Las Palmas on November 30.
