Barcelona Adds Thiago Alcantara To Hansi Flick’s Coaching Staff

The Barcelona team has officially acknowledged that a former midfielder Thiago Alcantara has joined manager Hansi Flick’s coaching staff on a temporary basis.

Thiago will only be temporarily in Barcelona to utilize the experience to help him in his future career as a coach.

Thiago Alcántara, who recently announced he was ending his playing career at the age of 33, will work with Hansi Flick’s team in the upcoming weeks to prepare for coaching, according to a club statement.

“The former player will be on the US tour and is anticipated to stay with the men’s football first team squad for the duration of the summer.”

Thiago had started working with Flick and the Barcelona players informally prior to the formal declaration.

The 33-year-old former La Masia protégé, who made his retirement announcement earlier this month, is already an important member of the backroom crew because of his fluency in Spanish and German and his knowledge of Flick and Barcelona.

In his ideal position, Thiago would serve as a liaison between the squad and the staff, facilitating clear exchanges of concepts and viewpoints.

It would be fascinating to see if Thiago agrees to continue in the job for an extended amount of time.

The former Barcelona midfielder is back for the time being as a coach, reports Barca Universal.
