Barcelona Admit Joao Felix Deal Is ‘Difficult’

Joao Felix joined FC Barcelona on a season-long loan from Atletico Madrid on the day of the summer transfer window last year.

With hopes that the 24-year-old forward may finally fulfill his enormous skill and promise, the move was hailed as somewhat of a coup.

But Joao Felix only gave Barça supporters brief glimpses of the talent that used to make him one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers during his time at the club.

Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid is expected to be signed again this summer, club president Joan Laporta and director Deco have stated in public.

As revealed to Barça Universal, negotiations to bring Joao Felix back to Barcelona are beginning to seem extremely challenging.

In fact, the 24-year-old Portuguese international is no longer a priority and appears to have missed the train in terms of a comeback, as Barcelona is racing to recruit both Nico Williams and Dani Olmo this summer.

Barça already has a large number of choices in the roster, therefore they cannot afford to overbook their offensive unit.

Additionally, the talks with Atletico Madrid have also proven to be quite difficult.

Joao Felix’s return to Barcelona therefore appears to be quite unlikely at this time.

However, it should be mentioned that the attacker is attracting a lot of interest from SL Benfica, his former team.

Recently, Aston Villa has also indicated that they would like to hire the international player from Portugal.
