Barcelona want to sign Marco Verratti, Julian Draxler, Angel Di Maria or Adrien Rabiot from Paris Saint-Germain as part of the proposed Neymar transfer deal.
The Catalan giants have been determined to hold on to their star player this summer, but may now be giving up hope of persuading the Brazil international to remain at the club.
This could see Neymar head to PSG in a world-record £197million deal, though PSG may too be keen on a swap deal if it gets his fee down, with some talk that the move could be in violation of Uefa’s Financial Fair Play laws.
Still, PSG are said not to be keen on allowing any of those players to leave, though former Manchester United man Di Maria may be the most realistic of the four options.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have already contacted the Argentine about the possibility of a move, and he’s keen to join his fellow countryman Lionel Messi at the Nou Camp.
The rest are seen as talented young players who are important to PSG’s future, with the Ligue 1 giants already having to fight off interest in Verratti this summer.
The Italy international was thought to be keen on a move to Barca before later denying it and apologising to his club, though Manchester United have also been recently linked as admirers.
However, Draxler only joined PSG last season and made a fine start at the club, while Rabiot has also risen to become an increasingly important member of the first-team, having joined their youth team all the way back in 2010.
Reports elsewhere suggest Barcelona are becoming increasingly frustrated with Neymar and may be more open to discussing a deal for him to leave after the behaviour of him and his entourage throughout this transfer saga.
