Aston Villa are reportedly willing to secure the signing of Barcelona defender, Clement Lenglet before the end of the summer transfer window.
The West Midlands side have had a successful start to the season, making it to the playoff rounds of the Europa Conference League and good Premier League outings.
Unai Emery’s side are on the verge of advancing to the group stages after defeating Hibernian 5-0 in the first leg of their European match. Adding to their six points from three games in the English Premier League.
Due to the long-term injuries sustained by Tyrone Mings and Emiliano Buendia, the Spaniard and Villa are now in a position where they must be active during the final days of the summer transfer window.
More than £30 million has been made by the sale of academy graduates Aaron Ramsey and Cameron Archer. The funds can be used to acquire at least one new player.
Fabrizio Romano, a transfer expert, claimed that Villa are weighing whether to move to sign Lenglet, most likely on a permanent basis.

The Frenchman spent the 2022–23 season on loan with Tottenham Hotspur. He made 32 starts and three substitute appearances in all competitions. He is currently back at Barcelona.

The 28-year-old was supposed to sign a permanent deal with Spurs at first, but the anticipated transfer never happened.
However, Barca are still willing to make a profit off the left-sided center-back in an effort to further resolve their well-known financial problems.
