Barcelona is slowly but steadily recuperating some of its players from injuries, but Andreas Christensen’s situation remains uncertain. The Danish centre-back was sidelined in August due to Achilles inflammation and has not returned to training since.

Despite reports that he could be back in two to three months and that his recovery is going well, Christensen has yet to train with the other players and will not be back until the end of the month, according to Sport. He is working out on the grass again and could return in December.
This season, the Blaugrana have relied almost entirely on Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez in central defence, with Ronald Araujo likely to return in the coming weeks and Eric Garcia also out due to injury. The challenge will be how quickly Hansi Flick can get them up to speed on Barcelona’s superbly coordinated offside trap.
