Barcelona plan to move for Lyon striker Memphis Depay in January.
Sport says Barcelona tried in the summer but in the end it wasn’t possible to sign Depay. However, they will try again in January with the hope of striking a more favourable deal.
The Dutch striker is out of contract with Lyon in the summer.
The club’s idea was to move for Depay again in the winter and that position has been strengthened following the injury to Ansu Fati. The managing comittee running the club until a new president is elected would give the green light to a move if the squad can be lightened first.
Barça have a deal in place with Depay and have done since the summer. He will be cheap in January because he would be free next June.
