By beating Levante 2-0 on Sunday Luis Enrique’s Barcelona have equalled a club record 28 game unbeaten run in all competitions which was set by Pep Guardiola’s incredible 2010-11 side.
Enrique’s side have drawn plenty of parallels with Guardiola’s legendary teams, particular after they won the treble last season, and now they are one game away from beating that team in one regard.
Should they avoid defeat to Gary Neville’s Valencia in the Copa Del Rey in the week then it will be 29 games unbeaten in all competitions, a new club record.
Comparing the two records side by side is also fascinating because there is just one goal between the two sides and their records speak for themselves.
The challenge for Enrique and his team is to try and make sure that they can emulate Guardiola’s team in terms of trophies won as well.
