Barcelona Forward Turns Down Saudi Club Approach

Barcelona striker, Vitor Roque has reportedly turned down the chance to join Saudi Pro League club, Al Hilal.

Al-Hilal were interested in signing the Brazilian for the upcoming 2024–25 campaign. And it was rumored that Barcelona would approve a deal in order to raise money.

But according to Fabrizio Romano, Vitor Roque turned down the Saudi side’s offer of a deal after talks.

He posted on X: “Understand Vitor Roque and his camp have turned down Al Hilal initial contract proposal after club-to-club approach. Al Hilal have also requested info on other U21 strikers as potential alternatives… …including Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran who wants to join West Ham.”

Roque is presently training with the Catalan outfit and may have the opportunity to show Hansi Flick what he is capable of during their tour of the United States.

But, as Barca still need to make sales during the summer window, a move away from the club might still be imminent.

Barcelona are said to interested in Spanish duo, Nico Williams and Dani Olmo this summer. But it has since been reported that the Blaugrana club can only make an approach for one of them. As they will need to sell some of their players in order to be able to make a formal bid for the other.
