Barcelona Has Come To An Agreement For The Summer Transfer Of A Renowned Spanish Defender

Barcelona appear to have taken a major step in their pursuit for a right-back, with Cule Mania reporting that a deal has already been completed with Almeria for Marc Pubill.

According to the outlet, sporting director Deco has approved the teenage full-back’s entrance, with only a few minor elements still to be finalised before the move is completed.

It is no secret that the Catalan club is looking for reinforcements on both flanks, specifically a left-winger and a right-back.

However, considering their financial constraints, Barça are anticipated to devote more resources to attacking reinforcements.

Options for the right back role

Deco has produced a list of cheap targets on the right wing, and while bigger names such as Andrei Ratiu and Vanderson have been examined, no official negotiations have taken place with either player.

Ratiu, who has impressed at Rayo Vallecano, has a €25 million release clause, but his market price is closer to €10 million, which Barça would most likely not have to pay in full.

Barcelona is considering signing Pubill, a 21-year-old defensive midfielder, as a more cost-effective alternative to Vanderson, who remains a costly option. Pubill’s signing is expected to be much more affordable, making him a practical option for the club’s financial situation. However, this move may be a setback for Hector Fort, who has struggled to gain Hansi Flick’s trust.

The German coach has not given him consistent playing time, and Pubill’s prospective signing could make his position in the group even more questionable.

It should be noted that Pubill was connected with Barcelona last summer, but the transfer did not happen.

This time, however, the transfer appears much closer to conclusion, and if all goes as planned, the young defender might soon be donning the Blaugrana shirt, offering important support to Jules Kounde on the right side.
